Blackboard organizations will remain in Blackboard through the end of the fall semester. It will not be possible to move all Blackboard organizations (academic groups, department resources, training and procedure documents, distribution lists, and more) to Brightspace.

Faculty scheduled to teach this Summer or Fall can log into Brockport’s new Brightspace Learning Management System to access training modules. If faculty want to work in a development shell, have a course imported into Brightspace, or adopt Brightspace for their Fall 2022 courses, then an IT Service Desk request must be submitted.

The new learning management system called Brightspace is now live for Summer 2022 Pilot courses. Summer pilot faculty and students registered in a pilot course can access Brightspace via Quicklinks.

Review our implementation timeline as Brockport migrates from Blackboard to the new Brightspace learning management system. Brightspace demonstrations and training opportunities are available for all faculty.

Our contract with Blackboard ends December 22, 2022. Brockport is moving to a new Learning Management System called Brightspace hosted through SUNY’s Digital Learning Environment (DLE). This transition begins in Summer 2022 with 32 early adopter faculty who will teach their courses on Brightspace.
