    Celebrating all things African, artistic director Jenise Akilah Anthony and musical director Mohamed Diaby mesh movement and music together to produce a rollicking, rhythmic event that bursts off the stage to enthrall every audience member. Sankofa’s guest artists only add to the international flair of the concerts.

Dance faculty Kaley Pruitt’s duet “Intersections” has been selected for the American College Dance Associations National Conference on May 26-28, 2023 in Long Beach, California.

Kaley Pruitt (Assistant Professor of Dance) presents her choreography titled “Hold” on Repertory Dance Theatre November 17-19, 2022, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Brockport community can view the performance virtually on demand after November 26.

Jacquie Davis received a grant from the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation for $12,000 to assist in covering the costs associated with bringing Urban Bush Women to campus from September 11-18, 2022, for students, the campus community, and the community at large to enjoy.

SUNY Brockport’s Sankofa is hosting Youssouf Koumbassa for a two-week residency in the Rochester and Brockport area between February 21-March 5. These classes are free, but require registration in order to attend.
