How Can Fictional English Teachers Inform Real English Teachers’ Practice?

Dr. Cody Miller, Assistant Professor of English education, was interviewed by the School Library Connection journal on fictional English teachers in young adult literature. In the interview, he and co-authors Mario Worlds (University of Florida) and Tianna Dowie-Chin (University of Florida) discuss their article, “From Pages to Pedagogy: Studying Fictional Social Justice English Teachers in Young Adult Literature” published in the journal Research on Diversity in Youth Literature.

The authors touch on topics relating to social justice English teaching, the role of librarians in social justice education, and suggestions for practicing teachers relating to young adult and children’s literature.
