Counselor Education Professor Elected as Regional Officer
Dr. Claudette Brown-Smythe is responsible for leading the North Atlantic Region of the American Counseling Association board in providing leadership training, professional development, legislative training to regional members, and continuing education and public policy.
Dr. Claudette Brown-Smythe, AssistantProfessor in the Department of Counselor Education was elected as the Chair-Elect for the North Atlantic Region (NAR) of the American Counseling Association(ACA). NAR represents professional counselors who live and practice in the following states, territories, and jurisdictions: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Europe.
ACA members who reside in any of these are part of the ACA North Atlantic Region. Upon completion of her role as Chair Elect, she will serve as Chair of the Region. She is responsible for leading the NAR board in providing leadership training, professional development, continuing education and public policy and legislative training to regional members.
