Phi Epsilon Kappa Participate in the 16th Annual Canal Clean Sweep

In recognition of Earth Day 2021, the New York State Canal Corporation partnered with Parks and Trails New York to sponsor the 16th Annual Canal Clean Sweep.

As part of this multi-community celebration, Phi Epsilon Kappa, the honors fraternity for the Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies, and Physical Education hosted a clean-up on Saturday, April 24 along the Erie Canal between the Smith Street and Park Ave bridges.

Canal Clean Sweep highlights the growing significance of the Canal System and the Canalway Trail System as a recreational and tourism destination across the state and here in Brockport. Community organizations, service groups, municipalities, and businesses across the New York State Canal System participated in the Canal Clean Sweep, hosting more than 100 local clean-up activities in Canalside parks and other community spaces, and on their local Canalway Trail segments. Phi Epsilon Kappa was honored to work alongside other members of the Brockport community to improve our canalway this year.
