Earth Sciences Professor Places Third in Nationwide Weather Forecasting Contest
Dr. Scott M. Rochette (Department of Earth Sciences) placed third in the faculty/staff category in the Baltimore, Maryland forecast period in the Weather Challenge collegiate forecast contest.
The Weather Challenge is a collegiate weather forecasting contest organized by the University of Oklahoma. Meteorology faculty, staff, and students from over 150 universities across North America participate in this contest, in which they make weather forecasts for varying cities in the U.S. Numerous Brockport meteorology students and faculty have won awards in this contest since its inception in 2005. Rochette placed 11th overall out of over 1300 forecasters in North America for this period.
