Sociology Professor Co-Edits Book
Elliot Weininger (Professor and Chair of the Department of Sociology) co-edited The Bloomsbury Handbook of Bourdieu and Educational Research.
The sociologist Pierre Bourdieu published a number of influential works on education beginning in the 1960s. However, these works focused almost exclusively on his native France. In recent decades, scholars have asked whether and how his arguments and findings pertain to other societies.
The Bloomsbury Handbook of Bourdieu and Educational Research extends attempts to address these questions beyond Europe and North America, to many societies in Asia and the Pacific Rim, in particular.
