Reporting Snow/Ice Control Issues to the Facilities Maintenance & Operations Dept.

Please contact the Facilities Service Center 24/7 at (585) 395-2408 to report any concerns with snow/ice control issues anywhere on campus. Every report helps us identify potential hazards and take steps to keep our campus safe.

Snow removal and ice control is considered priority work; pavements, sidewalks, ADA accessibility ramps, building entrances, and routes of access to these entrances, must be cleared. In all, it is a team effort of staff in the Grounds, Building Maintenance and Housekeeping departments working long hours to keep the campus open and accessible for students, faculty, staff and visitors.

The Facilities department is responsible for providing snow removal for 644 exterior steps, 44 buildings, 6.5 miles of roadway, 25 miles of sidewalks and 20 acres of parking lots. After the snow stops falling it can take up to four hours to reach most every area of campus to move snow and salt.
