BITS Planned Maintenance - Upcoming Outages

BITS has been busy working to perform several critical upgrades to our campus systems to prepare for winter break. There are still a few maintenance tasks that will be completed. Please keep up to date with our upcoming schedule. 

Upcoming Network and Systems Maintenance December 18-20 and January 1-5

The schedule for upcoming technology infrastructure maintenance is as follows:

  • December 18, 2023 (All Day) – CBORD Re-Addressing - No outage to card swipe access expected.
  • December 19-20, 2023 from 9 am–3 pm – ResNet Network Upgrades - Intermittent network outages expected in the residence halls.
  • January 1, 2024 from 6:30 – 8 am – Dailey Data Center Network Updates – Intermittent Network, Internet, and Service outages possible during this time.
  • January 2, 2024 from 6:30 – 8 am – Tuttle Data Center Network Updates – Intermittent Network, Internet, and Service outages possible during this time.
  • January 2,2024 from 8 am – 12 pm – Cisco Jabber Call Manager Reboots – No outage expected during this time; however, some active calls may drop.
  • January 3, 2024 from 6:30 – 8 am – Wi-Fi System Reboot, NYSERNET Patch, Call Gateway Upgrades – Intermittent Wi-Fi, network, and phone outages will occur during this time.
  • January 4, 2024 from 6:30 – 8 am – Firewall and VPN Updates – Intermittent Wi-Fi, network, and VPN connectivity may occur during this time.
  • January 5, 2024 from 6:30 – 8 am – Switch Reboots and NYSERNET Patch – Intermittent Wi-Fi and network outages may occur during this time.
