Save the Date: Scholars Day 2024 Held on April 15, 2024

Mark your calendars for our Annual 2024 Scholars Day, scheduled for Monday, April 15, 2024, from 8 am to 1 pm. We invite all faculty members to join us and encourage their students to participate.

This year’s theme revolves around the upcoming total solar eclipse, inspired by the significant once-in-a-lifetime event taking place in Brockport on April 8, 2024.

Classes are suspended until 1 pm on April 15, 2024 for our campus community to support Scholars Day participants and for our students to present.

Upcoming Sessions Schedule:

  • Session I:  8 - 9:15 am
  • Session II:  9:30 - 10:45 am
  • Poster Session:  11 am - 1 pm

Presentation Lengths:

  • Full Session: 75 minutes (60-minute presentation, 15 minute Q&A). Suitable for whole class presentations, performances, or group projects where one individual will be submitting the abstract on behalf of a whole class.
  • Standard: 15 minutes (12-minute presentation, 3 minute Q&A). This remains the default presentation length. This year’s sessions will allow for a maximum of 5 presenters a session.
  • Rapid-Fire: 5 minutes (3-minute presentation, 2 minute Q&A). The abstract submission portal will permit the creation of rapid-fire presentations.
    • Faculty will have the ability to create a session exclusively for rapid fire presentations, where a maximum of 15 students can deliver quick-hitting mini presentations.

Call for Innovative Session Ideas:

As always, the paper presentations, readings, talks, and poster presentations showcase our students’ outstanding work that we welcome. We are also encouraging thinking outside of the box.

Here are some ideas:

  • Host a panel with students and alumni
  • Have a session where attendees can participate, make something, or be involved
  • Exhibits, galleries, or demonstrations
  • Any other ideas to showcase our talented students’ work

If you have any questions, ideas, or would like to get involved, please contact us at
