Earth Sciences Professor Places Eighth in Nationwide Weather Forecasting Contest
Dr. Scott Rochette (Department of Earth Sciences) placed eighth in the faculty/staff category in the Traverse City, Michigan forecast period in the Weather Challenge collegiate forecast contest. He was 22nd overall out of nearly 1000 forecasters in North America for this period.
The Weather Challenge is a collegiate weather forecasting contest organized by the University of Oklahoma. Meteorology faculty, staff, and students from over 150 universities across North America participate in this contest, in which they make weather forecasts for varying cities in the U.S. Numerous Brockport meteorology students and faculty have won awards in this contest since its inception in 2005.
