Call for Proposals: CELT Spring 2024 Faculty Learning Community

Facilitate a group of faculty and staff around a common topic in a supportive and collaborative environment contributing to successful professional development. CELT is taking requests for facilitators willing to serve with a FLC during the spring 2024 semester by completing our MachForm by January 10, 2024.

Faculty Learning Community (FLC) is a group of faculty and professionals from various disciplines who meet every two weeks throughout the semester around a specific theme related to teaching, scholarship, or service. The shared premise is that the opportunity to work together in a supportive and collaborative environment contributes to successful faculty and staff development. Participants are expected to be actively engaged in meetings and activities, convening once every two weeks throughout the semester.

What’s involved? Each learning community requires at least one member to serve as the facilitator of that group. The facilitator’s job is to help the community meet its objectives through scheduling meetings, retreats, and other events; selecting readings and other material for discussion; and working with other campus stakeholders involved with faculty development to help assess the effectiveness of their faculty learning community. Participants are expected to be actively engaged in meetings and activities, convening once every two weeks throughout the semester.

CELT is taking requests for facilitators willing to serve with a FLC during the spring 2024 semester – simply complete the MachForm by January 10, 2024. When the communities are identified, an open call for participants to register will be announced. Please contact Catie Lalonde with any questions about potential proposals.
