Counselor Education Professor Awarded $36,200 by NYS Office of Mental Health
The New York State Office of Mental Health awarded $36,200 to Dr. Claudette Brown-Smythe for the Mental Health Counseling Student Pilot Project to support student in the program with participation stipends for field placements.
Dr. Claudette Brown-Smythe, Department of Counselor Education, has received funding from New York State Office of Mental Health to support the Mental Health Counseling Student Pilot Project. The project supports students engaging in their field experiences by providing participation stipends, seminars, and other core activities to engage students and facilitate their completion of the program.
The campus looks forward to the success of this program under Dr. Brown-Smythe’s supervision and is hopeful that NYS Office of Mental Health will see the positive impact of the program to ensure future funding.
