Madi Hiddie

Higher Education Administration (MSEd)
Madi Hiddie felt Brockport was her home as an undergraduate and graduate student. Her sense of belonging led to a higher-education career where she can help college students find what they love.
Describe your most significant academic accomplishment.
“My most significant academic accomplishments were during both my undergraduate and graduate careers in internship experiences. I first began my interest in the Higher Education world of work as an undergraduate student, where I interned in the Undergraduate Admissions office and learned about my love for helping others find what they are passionate about. I have been pursuing that same thought every since.”
How has the above experience impacted your future plans?
“These experiences helped me realize my love for the college environment and college students. They make coming to work and wanting to be a part of such an amazing growth-based community truly wonderful.”
What would you tell a future student interested in your field of study?
“Get involved, find out what populations you want to support, take every opportunity to say yes, and be a part of the bigger campus community. There is a space for everyone in higher ed; be someone who helps make those spaces welcoming.”
Tell us a little bit about yourself and why you chose Brockport?
“I am from a small town called Gasport, NY, where there are more cows than people in the population. I originally chose Brockport for the convenience of commuting to campus. However, I quickly fell in love with how much Brockport felt like a home away from home, and I soon felt a sense of belonging I had never expected. I truly fell in love with the environment here and decided I never wanted to leave.”
