Environmental Science & Ecology Alum Publishes Peer-reviewed Paper
Michelle Gianvecchio (MS in Environmental Science and Ecology, 2021) published a peer-reviewed paper in The Wilson Journal of Ornithology.
Michelle’s paper, which was based on a portion of her thesis research at SUNY Brockport, examined factors affecting the energetic condition of thrushes captured at Braddock Bay on the southern shore of Lake Ontario during the spring and autumn migrations. Dr. Mark Deutschlander of the Department of Biology at Hobart and William Smith Colleges worked closely with Michelle in designing and implementing her study at the Braddock Bay Bird Observatory. Michelle and Mark’s paper was selected by BioOne VISTA to represent The Wilson Journal of Ornithology in its October Featured Collection on migratory birds.
