Retirement Celebration for Dr. Barbara LeSavoy
Celebrate Dr. Barbara LeSavoy’s extraordinary 36-year career at SUNY Brockport on Monday, December 4, from 2-4 pm. The celebration will be held in the Fannie Barrier Williams Liberal Arts Building’s first floor lobby.
Dr. LeSavoy began her career at Brockport in 1987, working with the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) until 2007 when she became the first full-time Director of the Women’s and Gender Studies (WGS) Program. Dr. LeSavoy led the Program through many transitions, including the monumental shift from a Program to a Department in 2017. Known by students for her saying, “You are smart, you are interesting, and I like you,” Dr. LeSavoy’s advocacy for and commitment to her students is unmatched.
