Nursing Faculty Publish Article
Dr. Elizabeth Heavey and Dr. Kathleen Peterson publish an article titled “Investigating acute hepatitis of unknown origin in children” in the journal Nursing 2023.
In late 2021, the CDC was alerted to a cluster of children with hepatitis of unknown etiology at a US hospital. Similar reports began to emerge out of Europe. This article discusses the current systematic investigation happening with these cases and how epidemiological investigations help us to determine causative agents while implementing control and prevention measures, sometimes simultaneously.
