Banned Book Week at Drake Memorial Library
Drake Memorial Library is excited to observe Banned Book Week from October 1-7, hosting a series of three events that celebrate banned books while also encouraging the joy of reading.
Mark your calendars for the events ahead! Here’s a sneak peak:
Tuesday, October 3, 2023
- Drake Memorial Library has teamed up with the Seymour Public Library to host a Banned Book Scavenger Hunt. Drake library will offer games, food and prizes from 7-10 PM.
Wednesday, October 4, 2023
- Thompson Hall and Drake Memorial Library have combined efforts to present a free Book Fair. Free books and trinkets will be available from 1-4 PM on the main floor of Drake Memorial Library.
Thursday, October 5, 2023
- Seymour Library is back with a membership drive for the Monroe County Library System. They will be on the main floor of Drake Memorial Library from 12-2 PM.
In addition, there will be a banned book display is located near the Raj Madan Cafe, which will remain up through Banned Book Week.
