The Division of Student Affairs is launching its new Learning Series. This programming series is designed to highlight the services and resources housed within the Division to ensure that faculty and staff members receive up to date information of supporting our students

The Division of Student Affairs provides a vibrant and engaged community for every student, every day. As part of our mission, we are debuting our new, monthly Student Affairs Learning Series.

  • The first workshop will be held on Wednesday September 27 at 10 am in Seymour Union 220. This workshop will cover Student Behavioral Consultation Team (SBCT), the newly centralized student basic needs process, and how members of the community can access our newly opened food pantry. Remote options are offered by accessing the calendar link hyperlinked above.
  • The second workshop will be held on Wednesday October 23 at 10 am in Seymour Union 220. This workshop will cover issues relating to student mental health and feature Hazen Center’s psychiatrist, Dr. Scharf, and others in discussing the mental health first line. We’ll cover QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) to assist our students in navigating distress.
  • The last workshop of fall 2023 will be held on Wednesday November 29 at 10 am in Seymour Union 220. This workshop is designed to help members of our community navigate critical incidents and will explore Brockport’s TIG Strategy (Trauma, Illness, and Grief) when helping students cope with traumatic events.
