Strengthening Togetherness: Dialogue with Professor Mariana Sokol

Co-sponsored by the Promoting Excellence in Diversity (PED) Grant and nine divisions/departments, Mariana Sokol (Professor at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University, Ukraine and Professor at University of Rzeszów, Poland) will visit SUNY Brockport during the first week of October.

Prof. Mariana Sokol is Professor and Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University, Ukraine, and Professor at the College of Humanities, Institute of Modern Languages at University of Rzeszów, Poland. Co-sponsored by the Promoting Excellence in Diversity (PED) Grant and nine divisions/departments, Prof. Sokol is invited by Dr. Jie Zhang and Dr. Ya-Ling Chen (COIL members) to SUNY Brockport in the first week of October 2023 (Oct. 1-8).

During her visit, Prof. Sokol will speak in different classes and meet with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. In addition, she will offer two open forums: 6-7 pm on Oct. 3 at Room 148 Brockport Downtown, and 12-1 pm on Oct. 4 at the CELT. Her visit to the University will help students, faculty/staff, and community members learn more about her universities, teaching experiences in a global context, and how to make education sustainable despite the war.
