Department of Earth Sciences Hosts 94th Annual NYSGA Meeting
The Department of Earth Sciences hosted the 94th annual New York State Geological Association (NYSGA) meeting on September 16, 2023. Geologists, geology professors, and students from all over the state participated in geology field trips and attended the keynote lecture.
Dr. James Zambito, a Brockport alumnus (Earth Sciences ’04) and now Geology Department Chair at Beloit College, WI, delivered the keynote lecture on the Devonican carbon cycle revealed by the Northern Appalachian Basin strata of New York State.
Dr. Paul Richards, Professor of Water Resources, lead a field trip on the karst hydrology in Western New York. His field-trip participants include a leader in the New York State Council of Professional Geologists.
