Not Receiving Brightspace Email Notifications in Outlook?

Have you recently transferred from another SUNY school? If so, your notification settings might be set to your former school email account. Here’s how to fix this.

Video Option

Top Brightspace Announcement on the Brightspace Homepage: Check your Email Notifications to ensure you are receiving messages to your email account.


  1. Log into Brightspace
  2. Select the username in the top right corner of the screen
  3. Select Notifications
  4. Under Contact Method verify the email address
  5. If not
    1. Select “Change your email settings”
    2. Select the radio button for “Use custom email”
    3. Type the email address
    4. Click Save
    5. Open your Brockport email account
    6. Select Confirm Email Address link
