Chief Diversity Officer Successfully Defends PhD
Chief Diversity Officer Dr. Damita Davis successfully defended her PhD in Higher Education Leadership from University of Massachusetts Boston.
She defended her PhD in May 2023, with awarding in August 2023. Her dissertation research focused on the leadership approach of Black women college presidents at four-year, predominately white institutions. Critical race grounded theory was the methodology used to collect data for the qualitative study. Study findings resulted in the development of a new leadership mode specific to Black women in higher education.
