Meteorology Alum Receives The Francis W. Reichelderfer Award
Dr. Chad Gravelle ’05 was presented with the Francis W. Reichelderfer Award by the American Meteorological Society. This award is given in recognition of distinguished contributions to the provision of operational environmental services to the public.
Dr. Gravelle earned the award for leadership, dedication, and the innovative use of technology in preparing forecasters to integrate GOES-R satellite imagery and associated products into National Weather Service operations.
Dr. Gravelle is currently a Techniques Development Meteorologist at the National Weather Service Southern Region Headquarters in Fort Worth, TX. He earned his B.S. in meteorology at SUNY Brockport in 2005, and his M.S.(R) and Ph.D. in meteorology from Saint Louis University in 2007 and 2011, respectively.
