Utilizing Technology-Driven Creative Activities to Enhance Well-Being of African-American Caregivers

Afeez Hazzan (Assistant Professor of Healthcare Studies) presented to the African American Health Coalition at Common Ground Health.

Afeez Hazzan (Assistant Professor in Healthcare Studies) delivered an invited presentation to the African American Health Coalition at Common Ground Health. Common Ground Health is a non-profit public health organization that seeks to bring greater focus to community health issues via data analysis, resident engagement, and solution implementation.

Hazzan’s presentation focused on an ongoing “Action Arts” study which utilizes technology-driven creative activities to enhance the health and well-being of African American family caregivers and older adults living with dementia. After the presentation, there was a Q&A session where Hazzan answered various questions from community members about dementia and its impact on the quality of life of family caregivers.
