Seeking Volunteers for Brockport Village Safety Walks

The Division of Student Affairs is implementing a proactive and collaborative effort between faculty and staff volunteers along with the Brockport Police Department. The overall goal of the Village safety walks is to educate students on the risks associated with large gatherings that negatively impact the community.

With the spring weather approaching, it’s time to remind our students living in the Village, to be a good neighbor and be respectful of the families living within the Village. Also, to remind students that they are serving as the University’s ambassadors and their actions do reflect on the University.

This initiative reinforces the work of the University’s Good Neighbor committees.  Volunteers on the safety walks will remind our students that they should conduct themselves as responsible members of the community and be mindful of the impact of hosting parties has on their neighborhood.

We are seeking two volunteers from 4:30 – 6:30 pm on the following dates:

  • Friday, April 28
  • Saturday, April 29
  • Tuesday, May 2
  • Wednesday, May 3 (last day of classes)

Please contact Chaley Swift, Division of Student Affairs at by April 27, to sign up to be a volunteer for one of the Village Safety Walks. Detailed instructions will be provided to all volunteers.
