The Divisions of Enrollment Management & Student Affairs Announce 2022-2023 Award Recipients
The Division of Enrollment Management and the Division of Student Affairs Awards Committee congratulates the following award recipients, Tausha Hill, Denise Catlin, Student Athletes for Equity (SAFE), Gil Burgmaster, and University Police.
The recipients will be recognized at the annual awards ceremony on Thursday, April 20 from 3-4 pm in the NY Room, Cooper Hall.
Tausha Hill, EOPs Senior Counselor received the Outstanding New Professional award. Tausha is involved in a plethora of committees including, the Steve Fund Mental Health for Students of Color, Women of Color Subcommittee, and the UP Advisory Board. Tausha led the Peaceful Giving’s EOP delivering plants to the Chateau Senior Life Facility.
Denise Catlin of Athletics received the Support Staff of the Year award. Denise is known as “the glue” that holds Athletics together. Her bubbly, cheerful presence and incredible work ethic keeps the department running smoothly, managing travel for 23 teams, fundraising and supporting 60 staff.
Student Athletes for Equity (SAFE) received the Equity Diversity and Inclusion Award for educating student athletes’ on EDI. SAFE organizes meaningful conversations, exemplifying their motto to “Engage, Educate, Transform, and Act.” They organized Title IX’s 50th anniversary and a book reading for a Rochester City School.
Gil Burgmaster, Associate Athletic Director received the Campus Partner Award. Gil goes above and beyond to recruit new student-athletes by working with Admissions and coaching staff. Gil collaborates with the Advancement office, for fundraising and sponsorship efforts, raising nearly $200,000 annually for Athletics, including the annual Day of Giving that raised $87,000.
University Police received the Collaboration Award. Athletics and Men’s Hockey along with UP hosted Military Appreciation Night. Golden Eagles wore camouflage uniforms which were auctioned to benefit a charity of Army Colonel Daniel Fletcher, raising over $2,000.
