Department of Public Health and Health Education Faculty Presents at Conference
As a former 2021 attendee of the SOPHE/CDC Institute for Higher Education Academy (IHE) with a successful Matrix Action Plan, Jackie Dipzinski (EdM, CHES) from the Department of Public Health and Health Education presented on the SUNY Brockport School Health Education MSED program at the 2023 SOPHE/CDC IHE Academy: Collaborating to Strengthen the Quality of Health Education Teacher Preparation Programs in the United States on March 20 and 21, 2023 in Atlanta, GA.
The goal of the IHE Academy is to enhance participants’ understanding and provide training on essential tools and resources that reflect high-quality curriculum for the preparation of health and physical educators in K-12 schools. In addition to the presentation, Jackie also served as a resource in meeting with individuals from other Universities in the United States to assist them in creating their own SOPHE/CDC Action Matrix Plan for their health education teacher preparation programs. Earlier this year, at the request of SOPHE, and with approval from SUNY Brockport, Jackie provided core course syllabi with examples of coursework assignments as evidence of exemplary health education teacher preparation programs in the United States.
