The article, entitled “Marsh birds as ecological performance indicators for Lake Ontario outflow regulation,” proposes six marsh bird-based performance indicators most suitable for assessing bird community response to Lake Ontario water level outflow regulation. The article incorporates over ten years of bird monitoring data collected from 2011 to present by SUNY Brockport graduate and undergraduate students in the Department of Environmental Science and Ecology whose work was supported by the Great Lakes Coastal Wetland Monitoring Program (CWMP). The CWMP is funded by the EPA.
