Seeking Donation of Bathroom Scales

According to The Emily Project, eating disorders can develop, return, and/or worsen when young people are in college. This can include anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder.
The issues of eating disorders and disordered eating is often further compounded by the ubiquity of things like social media. Studies should that young people with social media accounts, for example, are at heightened risk of developing some form of eating disorder.
To reclaim the narrative and refocus our conversations onto body-positivity, Health Promotion and Prevention Education/The Center for Gender and Sexual Diversity and the Women’s Union will be hosting a scale smashing event on Thursday, March 23, 2023.
To support this event, we are seeking the donation of bathroom scales. If you are ready to part with a bathroom scale as part of this reclamation, please drop it off in the HPPE office in Seymour College Union B124 during business hours.
This event is open to all.
