Why You and Your Students Should Attend the 2023 Jobs and Internship Fair.

We know that the ultimate goal of attending college is to prepare for a future career. One of the resources that the Career Services Department offers to help students prepare for a future career is on-campus job fairs. These events allow students to meet one-on-one with a recruiter to discuss current jobs and network for future opportunities.
Below are two reasons why you should have your students attend the 2023 Jobs and Internship Fair.
Build Connections with Industry Partners
Attending the Fair allows students to meet local industry partners and establish relationships with them. In addition, industry connections could increase classroom visits and donor support, allowing you to know current industry expectations to better prepare your students for the workforce.
At the Fair, you can find multiple local industry professionals in one room, making it easy to establish connections quickly.
Increase Student Placement & Job Outcomes
As you build relationships with our industry partners, they will be more inclined to reach out to you directly for student internships and career opportunities. As a result, more internships and jobs will arise, and recruiters will want to hire our Golden Eagles.
Additionally, networking at the Local Job Fair provides more opportunities for classroom visits, on-site tours, and job shadowing opportunities. Don’t you want a career professional inside your classroom telling your students exactly what to expect and how to prepare? The connections you establish at the job fairs on campus might provide the pipeline of employers you need.
Attend the Local Job Fair on Wednesday, March 1, 2023
The 2023 Jobs and Internship Fair will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the SERC Fieldhouse. Thirty minutes before the event opens to students, faculty and staff are invited to attend to network with industry partners. The doors will open at 12:30 p.m. for faculty and staff, and we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. This window of time may be difficult for class times, but consider ending class 10 minutes early to stop by for just a few minutes. We hope to see you there!
