Academic Advising Forums are Scheduled & Your Participation is Needed

The Divisions of Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management & Student Affairs are hosting three Academic Advising Forums in February. The forums will provide a space for faculty and staff to discuss ideal academic advising practices. An extra session has been added on February 9.

The purpose of academic advising is to assist students in clarifying their educational goals and in developing academic plans to achieve them at SUNY Brockport. Whether provided by faculty and/or professional staff, academic advising should enable students to become self-directed learners and responsible decision makers and encourage them to take advantage of available educational opportunities both within the formal curriculum and beyond.

During the Academic Advising Forum(s) we will ask participants, “What does the perfect advising system look like to you?” From there, we will discuss what aspects of the perfect advising system should be implemented at SUNY Brockport.

We look forward to your participation and welcome a robust and productive discussion with respect to the future of advising on campus. Please RSVP online to participate.
