Environmental Science & Ecology Graduate Students Receive Grants to Support Research

Thomas Blowers, Colin Clark, and Nick Farese each received a $1,000 student grant from the Great Lakes Research Consortium to support research.

Thomas Blowers, Colin Clark, and Nick Farese each reached a $1,000 student grant from the Great Lakes Research Consortium to support research.

  • Thomas’ research project is titled, “Does Vitamin E Concentration Relate to Vitamin B1 Concentration in Lake Trout Eggs.”
  • Colin’s research project is titled, “Do Lake Trout Eggs and Free Embryos Acquire Thiamine During Development in Wild Populations.”
  • Nick’s research project is titled, “Assessing the Diet of Lake Trout from Otsego Lake Using Stomach Content, Fatty Acid, and Stable Isotope Analysis.”

The grants will be used to purchase consumables required to complete their work. Thomas, Colin, and Nick are advised by Dr. Jacques Rinchard.

The awards will be administered by the Scholarship, Research, and Sponsored Programs Office.
