Reporting Snow/Ice Control Issues to the Facilities Maintenance & Operations
Snow removal and ice control is considered priority work; pavements, sidewalks, ADA accessibility ramps, building entrances, and routes of access to these entrances, must be cleared. In all, it is a team effort of staff in the Grounds, Building Maintenance, and Housekeeping departments working long hours to keep the campus open and accessible for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
The Facilities department is responsible for providing snow removal for 644 exterior steps, 44 buildings, 6.5 miles of roadway, 25 miles of sidewalks and 20 acres of parking lots. After the snow stops falling it can take up to four hours to reach most every area of campus to move snow and salt.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as our crews make every effort to keep our campus functioning during and after winter storms.
As always, non-urgent service requests may be made via an online form.
