UUP Scholarship Opportunities for Students

The United University Professionals (UUP) is the union representing academic and professional faculty of the State University of New York. UUP recognizes the outstanding achievement of students through various scholarships. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2023.

William E. Scheuerman Post Baccalaureate Scholarship

This one-time scholarship of $3,000 is awarded annually to full-time SUNY post graduate or professional school students who demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, social justice issues and labor ideals. 

Steve Street Scholarship Award

This one time $500 award is given to an undergraduate student or group of undergraduate students currently enrolled at a SUNY campus who have created any paper or documented any project related to social justice issues or topics. 

UUP Benefit Trust Fund Scholarship Program

This negotiated $500 per semester benefit is open to the dependent children of UUP-represented employees. 

UUP College Scholarship Fund Undergraduate Scholarship

Up to four one-time scholarships of $3,000 are awarded annually to SUNY undergraduates who demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, social justice issues and labor ideals. The union gave its first undergraduate scholarships in 1988.
