Chemistry Professors Publish Research in the Journal of Chemical Education

Dr. Robert LeSuer and Dr. Carly Reed (Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry) published their research on the use of technology to increase student engagement during hybrid instruction in the Journal of Chemical Education.

For several years, the COVID-19 pandemic greatly altered our approach to instructional delivery in higher education.  Now, we have an opportunity to identify what strategies and technological innovations used during the pandemic should be maintained and developed as we return to face-to-face instruction.  Student surveys coupled to engagement metrics help identify how several technological tools (text messaging, live-stream chatroom, and flipped-classroom presentation platforms) were used and valued by students in a hybrid General Chemistry class.
