Notice of Building Closure: Brockport Downtown & REOC
Brockport Downtown & REOC will be fully remote from 3 - 10 pm on Thursday, September 8th.
On Thursday, September 8 our facility and full operations at Brockport Downtown and REOC (including classes) will be remote from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm.
Our neighbors at 3 City Center will be conducting an active shooter training in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security. The event will take place in the afternoon, to begin the training at 5:00 pm- time and set up may be subject to change. Woodbury St. from Chestnut to S. Clinton will be closed to all traffic. The courtyard area to the west of our building will be taped off.
Given this is a training designed to simulate a real-life situation, the responders may be carrying weapons, and wearing body armor and/or riot gear. While we are not certain exactly what this will look like, we are aware that some in our community may have witnessed and/or been victims of violence, and this simulation may trigger past trauma. Please work with your supervisor(s), instructors, and/or colleagues if you are concerned about how this may impact you.
