Mental Health Resources & Opportunities for BIPOC Students

SUNY Brockport is part of the third cohort of campuses engaged with “The Steve Fund” and the “Equity in Mental Health Framework” initiative focused on supporting and improving the mental health and wellness of BIPOC students.

While students face common challenges regardless of background, students of color are more likely to encounter additional burdens and barriers that must be managed and overcome. The Steve Fund has many “back to school” resources for students, faculty and staff, including an online workshop “Mental Health & Suicide in the Black Community: Amplifying Mental health awareness for Black young women and girls.”

The Steve Fund has put together a 2022 Back to School Toolkit to help students of color, their families and educators find information, resources, and events to help tackle societal stressors and maintain mental wellbeing.
