Using Blackboard for Fall Classes? Action Required Today

If you are teaching courses in Blackboard, you must log into Blackboard and open each course prior to the start of classes. Students will be unable to see the course if it is not open. Directions are in this article. All Fall courses in Brightspace will automatically open for student access on August 22.

All courses in Blackboard have been set to inactive as part of the final migration to Brightspace. Faculty choosing to use Blackboard this fall semester must activate their course(s). See the directions below. Blackboard ends on December 21, 2022.

How to Make a Course in Blackboard Available to Your Students:

  1. Log into Blackboard
  2. Open your course shell
  3. Click on the padlock between the student view button and “Edit Mode is:” area.
