How would you describe your academic experience?
I would say my academic experience has been a blessing, I made new connections, friends and more opportunities because of the choices I made through academic. I am not only gaining an academic degree but becoming more knowledgeable in subjects I never imagined
How has your academic experience at Brockport impacted your future plans?
My academic experience has greatly impacted my future plans. Through Army ROTC, I have a clear path of what I intend to be. I know now how to apply myself and achieve my goals.
Is there a specific course that stands out? If yes, why?
I would say Military Science and Physical Training (strength and conditioning):
Through PT, I am able to challenge myself physically and mentally via exercising with my peers. Waking up early in the morning is difficult, but it shows my superiors a higher level of commitment.
Through military science, I gain multiple attributes which influences my lifestyle at SUNY Brockport and in my future, including leadership and confidence, which helped me form the person I am today.
What would you tell a future student interested in your field of study?
To anyone who is taking the Army ROTC route (or not): enjoy and seize every moment. We only have 4 years of this amazing journey.
What are your future plans after graduation?
My plan is to become an Army Officer in the United States Army. Hopefully, I can work the medical field during my career as an officer.
Have you taken part in any research/internships? Please list all and tell us about each one.
I studied Russian and Portuguese throughout Project Go.
I was given a scholarship to study Russian at the University of Pittsburgh for 8 weeks in 2021.
I am currently studying Portuguese at University of California San Diego for the next 10 weeks.
