What Happens to Existing Organizations in Blackboard as College Courses Move to Brightspace?

Blackboard organizations will remain in Blackboard through the end of the fall semester. It will not be possible to move all Blackboard organizations (academic groups, department resources, training and procedure documents, distribution lists, and more) to Brightspace.

BITS supports a variety of alternative technologies to assist with storing, delivering, and sharing content as well as communicating with groups. Announcements will be posted during the fall semester as a plan is developed.

When will course support staff (such as non-instructors and teaching assistants) have access to Brightspace?

Currently, the Brightspace migration only supports teaching faculty and enrolled students. BITS is working on a solution. Stay tuned!

**Blackboard will become unavailable at 11:59 pm on December 21, 2022. That means there is no possible way to access the Blackboard system after 12 am on December 22, 2022. BITS will have Blackboard content archived and will be migrating courses from Blackboard into Brightspace.
