Camp Abilities Returns to Campus this Summer

Camp Abilities is now in its 27th year, but only its 25th face-to-face. After two years of virtual programming, Camp Abilities will host 45 children who are blind or visually impaired on campus the week of June 26-July 2, 2022.

Camp Abilities is an overnight educational sports camp for children who are visually impaired, blind, or deafblind. Campers have a one-on-one coach (who is usually a college student studying in the field)and participate in sports and recreation all over campus.

This program is made possible with incredible support from the Research Foundation grants office, Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies, and Physical Education (KSSPE), Institute on Movement Studies for Individuals with Visual Impairment or Deafblindness, Department of Theatre and Music Studies, Department of Communication, College Communications, BASC, Facilities, Emergency Management, Parking, our administration, area Lions clubs, Foundation Grants, and many, many individual supporters.

For our schedule, to learn more, or to make a donation, please visit our Camp Abilities website. Please come by Camp during the week if you can. If you have a family member or friend who is 18-? and who wants to be a coach we still have room for four more!
