Theatre Production Receives the Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Award

Final Scene - ?Water by the Spoonful

The Department of Theatre and Music Studies Fall 2021 production of “Water by the Spoonful” will receive a Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Award at the 2022 KCACTF National Awards Ceremony on May 21, 2022.

The Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Award “recognizes programs in higher education using theatrical production to promote long-term societal impact through an artistic lens, to encourage empathetic exploration of the complex cultural and physical world, and to advocate for justice on campus and throughout the world.”

Directed by SUNY Brockport alumna, Stephanie Paredes and produced by the Department of Theatre and Music Studies in collaboration with the Rochester Latino Theatre Company Water by the Spoonful is one of 22 productions from the eight Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) regions to be honored in a live-streamed awards ceremony from the Kennedy Center at 5 pm on Saturday, May 21. Guest projection designer, Dan Roach, will receive a Special Achievement in Projection Design award at the ceremony as well.
