Joint Planning & Budget Committee Update
JPBC received multiple updates in the month of April and co-hosted a budget town hall in early May. The final meeting for the academic year will be on May 19 at 8:30 am.
The Joint Planning and Budget Committee (JPBC) is a presidential advisory committee representing the college community. It serves as the institutional oversight body to ensure that institutional goals and division level planning and budgeting are interlinked and informed by assessment to advance the strategic goals and priorities established in Building a Better Brockport, the strategic plan for the College. The committee meets on select Thursdays from 8:30 - 10:30 am throughout the academic year. Meetings are open and the SUNY Brockport community is encouraged to attend.
During the month of April, JPBC was provided an enrollment and retention status for undergraduate and graduate students, received a report from the Campus Based Fee Review Committee, reviewed new campus fee requests, and was provided with an update on the College’s five-year financial model. A presentation was also provided to JPBC to consider the movement of the swimming pool management to the Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies, and Physical Education. Budget presentations were offered by Brockport Student Government, Brockport Auxiliary Service Corporation (BASC), and Dormitory Income Fund Reimbursable (DIFR). On May 3, in partnership with College Cabinet, JPBC co-hosted a budget town hall. Finally, the Investments Funds Subcommittee of JPBC reviewed 24 Investment Funds proposals soliciting $625,783. Final decisions on funding are anticipated in late May.
During the final JPBC meeting of the academic year on May 19, Provost Delene will provide a presentation on Academic Strategic Planning, and an update from the Instructional Technology and Classroom Renovation Committee is expected.
