Journalism Sophomore Selected as Reporter for Broadcast Education Association
Cambrie Eckert is one of a handful of journalism students nationwide selected to be part of a small team of journalists covering the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) and National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conferences in Las Vegas from April 22-26, 2022.
Eckert will utilize a variety of storytelling methods, including text, audio, video, photos, and graphics. Eckert and the other student multimedia journalists (MMJs) will report on different aspects of media and technology, including interviews with exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, and award winners. The MMJs will also cover special events.
The sophomore will receive some equipment to use on site and press passes. She will have access to the NAB Show Newsroom and work under the guidance of two faculty advisors. She was also awarded a convention registration, housing, a round-trip economy airfare of up to $500, and a $250 stipend for food and incidentals.
Eckert is a Journalism and Broadcasting major concentrating in Multimedia Journalism. She also is an English minor, in the Honors College and Managing Editor of The Stylus.
