Physical Education Student Nationally Honored as “Major of the Year”

Kayli Brown, a senior in the Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies, and Physical Education (KSSPE), was selected as the physical education Major of the Year. She will be honored at the 2022 SHAPE America conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.

SHAPE America–Society of Health and Physical Educators will honor Kayli Brown as a Major of the Year in Physical Education during the organization’s 136th National Convention & Expo, April 26-30, 2022, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The award celebrates outstanding undergraduate students in the health, physical education, recreation, and dance professions.

Kayli is a senior in the Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) program. As a member of the Honors College, she has routinely made the Dean’s List and currently holds a 3.86 GPA. She is a two-year veteran of the women’s Field Hockey team, has received the Wilbur H. Adriance and Clark V. Whited/JP Morgan Chase Foundation Scholarships, and is a member of her college, state, and national professional associations.
