Final Day to Nominate an Outstanding Student Who Uses Technology in their Discipline

Four students (two each from the School of Arts & Sciences and Business & Management), will be recognized for their demonstrated or theorized practical uses of technology in their discipline and their future career(s). Nominations from faculty are due today.

The Michael & Nancy Oshier Student Technology Scholarship annually recognizes outstanding students with $1,000 scholarships.

Eligible students must:

  • Be enrolled in ANY one of the academic programs within the School of Arts & Sciences or within the School of Business & Management.
  • Have completed at least two years of college-level study and have a Brockport cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must have also completed at least 12 credits at SUNY Brockport at the time of application.
  • Have demonstrated or theorized practical uses of technology in their discipline, plan to continue their use of technology in their professional career, and demonstrate promise in their future career.
  • Be nominated by a faculty member or nominate themselves for consideration.
  • Expecting to be enrolled for at least one more semester at SUNY Brockport.

The nomination form must include a letter of support and explanation from the nominator of how the nominee demonstrated or theorized practical uses of technology in their discipline and plan to continue their use of technology in their professional career. Although optional, but highly suggested, the nominator can submit supporting evidence of the nominee using technology in their discipline.

To nominate a student, submit the Oshier nomination form

Deadline for submissions is Friday, April 15
