Open Education Resources & Collaborative Online Learning Reflections

A presentation titled“Strengthening Student Research & Intercultural Competence: Open Education in International Virtual Exchanges” highlighted SUNY Brockport faculty and librarian course collaboration during Open Education week.

This virtual session was one in a series hosted by SUNY Online celebrating Open Education Week, March 7-11, 2022.

Brockport participants included Dr. Jie Zhang (Professor of Special Education in Education and Human Development) Dr. Mary Jo Orzech (Scholarly Communications Librarian and OER Advisory Coordinator) Jennifer Little Kegler (Associate Librarian at Drake Memorial Library), and Ann Giralico Pearlman (Senior Instructional Designer Emerita, COIL Steering Committee Chair, and adjunct faculty in Departments of Journalism, Broadcasting & Public Relations and Education and Human Development).

The faculty and librarian presenters shared co-planning, implementing, and revising assignments in SUNY collaborative online international learning (COIL) exchange courses to help strengthen student research and intercultural competence using open educational resources (OER).
