Camp Abilities Brockport Receives Funding from The Gibney Family Foundation
Camp Abilities Brockport and Dr. Lauren Lieberman, Founder and Director, received $10,462 in funding from The Gibney Family Foundation to host a 24-hour Goalball Marathon game in honor of their 25th Anniversary.
The Goalball Marathon celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Camp Abilities, a milestone camp hit during the pandemic, will be an exciting way to welcome campers back to in-person camp and provide campers an opportunity to celebrate this important anniversary.
Camp Abilities will engage current campers, camp alumni, and Paralympic goalball players, as well as coaches, specialists, faculty, and staff from Brockport. Camp will be hosting a special guest at the event - Lex Gillet, a gold medal track and field star who is blind.
Please come out to watch the Goalball Marathon, celebrate camp’s anniversary, and cheer on the athletes. The marathon is scheduled to take place June 30 at 4 pm - July 1 at 4 pm. Watch for more information in the coming months.
The grant will be administered by The Research Foundation for SUNY at Brockport.
