Physical Education Student Teacher Candidates Participate in Mock Interviews
The goal of the session was to provide an authentic interviewing experience for teaching candidates. Administrators were invited from local school districts and conducted the mock interviews. Each administrator interviewed about three candidates. Time was allotted for group and individual debriefing at the conclusion of the round of interviews. The seminar was an invaluable culminating activity for the candidates’ capstone experience.
The Dr. Eugene F. Orbaker Award for Excellence in Student Teaching & Engagement also was presented by the PETE faculty, which recognized teaching candidates who go above and beyond expectations during their student teaching placements. Teaching candidates selected for the award were Jessica Pignato and Matthew Whalen.
